Dear OSU Undergraduate and Graduate Students,

I am writing to update you that the university has received federal assistance funding for students through the recently passed Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), which authorized funds for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II). These funds may be used for any component of your cost of attendance or emergency costs that arise due to COVID-19, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or childcare, and OSU will prioritize students with exceptional need.

To learn more about this program and apply for CRRSAA assistance, please visit OSU’s CRRSAA webpage and apply using the emergency funding request. Note that there are eligibility requirements associated with CRRSAA assistance, such as having a current FAFSA financial aid form on file. If you have not filed a FAFSA for the 2020-21 academic year, you may still do so at this website.

Federal regulations do not allow OSU to distribute CRRSAA funds to international students, DACA students, and undocumented students, also highly valued members of our community. To assist them and others, the Office of Financial Aid will use Beavers Care and other institutional funds raised by the OSU Foundation to support students not eligible for CRRSAA aid. To apply for this assistance, students should contact the Office of Financial Aid.

Please know that during this time of uncertainty, we’re here for you, remain committed to your well-being and are doing all we can to assist you. Your continued safety, wellness and progress toward attainment of your educational goals are our top priorities.

I hope you and your families are well.

Sincerely,

Edward Feser
Provost and Executive Vice President
